My gosling isn't eating this morning. Drinking fine. Yesterday seemed to eat clumps of dog hair. Are they able to digest the hair? My dogs leave hair everywhere and it's hard to watch the goslings at all times even though I try my best! Thank you!

Hair is not digestible. If your little gosling ate even a small amount, it can lodge in the crop or gizzard and cause problems. The first indication of a problem is lack of appetite. The second is a proclivity to drink more water than usual.

The treatment for this is oil. I prefer coconut oil in its solid state due to ease of administering it. Just slip small bits into the beak until you get about a teaspoon of oil into the gosling. Repeat in a couple hours if you don't see the hair emerge in a poop.
