I need advice on this gosling that hatched with what I think is the yolk sac attached. This is my first time incubating and hatching out geese. I was completely hands off with this hatch to allow the gosling to hatch when it was ready and it appears to have hatched with the yolk sac not fully absorbed. I’m concerned because I know this can be bad. Any advice?

I assume it’s like ducklings.

The incubator is small, so if you’re able, find a container large enough to hold the baby, but small enough to fit in the incubator. Line it with a paper towel, and place the baby inside.
Otherwise, line the incubator with paper towel, and find some kind of blockade.
You want the paper towel to prevent the yolk from sticking, and the container / blockade to prevent the baby from moving around too much & rupturing it.

I’d guess the yolk will finish absorbing within a day or so.

Once absorbed, or if the yolk falls off, you can use an antibiotic ointment over the area.
