Gosling problems -videos to show what’s going on

Could your gosling have caught her wing on something looks like it could possibly be an injury. Have you examined her wing? does she ever hold it in normal position and can she flap her wing? I would def get them all on the B complex so since your treating large fowl go with TSC cattle B complex All the Bs are great for issues they are having but after examine her wing you may want to consider wrapping her wing to where it would sit naturally just like they do for angel wing for support give it a few day wrapped then see how she is holding it if it's an injury wrapping it along with the B's should help it heal Just don't let her get into deep water with her wing wrapped. @atmaclean the B complex at TSC is in the cattle dept and will say injectable but we give it orally 1 ml daily for each gosling you are treating.

Thank you so much! I will start the B complex. We are at TSC almost daily.

He used to hold the wing correctly. I was bandaging it with a knee-hi stocking to correct the angel wing he had and the last day of the wrapping he started the wing drooping thing. I was terrified i had cut his circulation off or something but the nylon wasn’t tight or anything. It corrected the angel wing. I can certainly wrap it again for this issue until it is better.

I'd give all of your waterfowl a dose of the b Vit ...

Is the wing problem "angel wing"?

Yes. I had two babies with angel wing. I cut the end off a knee high nylon and snugged it over their wing for a few days and that corrected it. But then he started with this dropped wing deal. I will start the niacin drops as well as wrapping that wing again for a few days and see what we get. Poor fella. It looks so pitiful.

On another note, can anyone tell if the dropped wing gosling is a male or female?

What about the one that walks kind of odd??

I’m really curious to know if they are male or female. Also wonder how mom and dad will deal with them as they get older. Will they kick them to the curb or keep them close as a family unit?

Usually they are accepted if you have ganders there maybe some pushing during breeding season but my pair just went on with life once their 2 goslings grew up they were always together and the son of the pair knew he was low man and the only time there was the slightest problem was when he and dad got into the pool together there would be a little pushing and shoving but never out and out fighting.

He keeps trying to correct the wing so he does have movement in it. This happened right after you removed the stocking to correct the angel wing? I just am not sure what to do for the little one, If he can't keep it tucked up now by using his muscles wrapping may make the muscles even weaker. Since he won't be using them at all. Any chance you could get a vets opinion? Lets see if we can get @Iain Utah attention she has had many geese and still does maybe she can shed some light and also guess on sexes.

Thanks for the info about the family unit. Glad for that! I can reach out to @Iain Utah Utah as well. Thank you.

Yes this started when i removed the nylon that corrected his angel wing...
