Next month I'm getting goslings. Embden geese, if breed matter for how they're raised. I'm getting two or four, because my mum doesn't want an odd number.
I've been doing some reading and I've got a pen for them once they're big enough to be outside without supplemental heat.

I read for the first three weeks to add Brewers yeast to their food or water. And pellets, not crumble. Non-medicated chick feed but waterfowl feed is better (and my supply store has some I believe. If not, they'd likely be able to get it in). Also rolled oats in the food. I can't remember what the ratios are. And they can have supervised play time in warm shallow water. But they also need water deep enough to use to clear their eyes.

They'll be three/four days old this time next month. I just really would appreciate any advice, tips, corrections on the above information I've heard if anything is wrong. Literally anything will be appreciated! I know nothing, these will be my first geese!

I have always used Purina flock raiser crumble to raise mine. I start giving them chopped grass after a few days and slowly increase them as they grow. I eventually switch mine to an all flock pellet after the first month or two.

We just got geese to day and to say I’m new to this is an understatement!

Geese clear their eyes?!

I know ducks clear their nares or nostrils or whatever you wanna call them, but I didn’t know geese cleared their eyes!

I might have been thinking nares! I read eyes on one article, so I'm thinking they were wrong! I wouldn't take what I say as 100% factual because I'm just learning! But good luck with your little honkers! Let me know if you have any tips as you go, since I might be getting them in two weeks now instead of next month!

How exciting!! Yay for potentially “early birds!” ;)
Yes!! I’m so excited to learn!
Lord’s Willing, please do the same as you start raising your babies!! I wanna hear all about it!

Yeah I'm so excited! I think everyone I know is really to lock me in a box and ship me away, because I talk about them too much! And absolutely, I'll have to keep you up to date!

Hahaha, me too!! Today has been one of MUCH goosey talk!
They can ship us and our geese out together, and we can keep ourselves entertained with goose-story swapping! 🤣

Please do!! Happy goose keeping, praying it goes smoothly for you!
