I've got a little female pilgrim gosling, 2 to 3 days old, who's got a pretty good sized underbite. I notice her having a hard time getting the food today - trying to grab it with the side of her mouth. Does anyone have experience with this or advice? Will she be able to feed herself or will she gradually starve? I don't want to let this go on if she is destined to just go hungry, get sick and die. I've got her two sibs who are perfect. Thanks in advance.

Can you post a pic, I have read of others that have had this with their goslings and they have done fine but can't remember if it was over bite or under.. Sometime they can compensate for their problems and do just fine.

i have a duck with a badly deformed top bill so she can't bite anything. Since birth i've given her food in a bowl so she can scoop it up. She's grown now and has a hard time picking things up, she has to turn her head upside down. But she can eat lettuce and peas and her feed just fine.

Sorry this took so long. My camera has a dead battery and I thought I could replace it today and get you a pic, but that didn't pan out. I'm on the search for a new battery now. In the meantime, she seems to be eating ok. It takes her longer to eat and drink, but she is managing.

I think what Enchanted Sunrise said is the way to go deep bowls. Glad to hear she is managing.
