Gosling with hurt leg

This the last resort sadly apart from putting her to sleep. ive already spent a fortune on her for xrays ect but the leg cant be fixed.she is the coolest goose and we would do anything for her.

meep, if I may ask.... where are you located? My vet Scott Echols, is an avian surgical specialist and travels extensively around the country to treat birds. He may be able to help. He has worked miracles for my deformed gander.

not sure we rescued her from a produce store.most likely because she was in a wire cage top to bottom. she is doing well today as we made socks for her so she is able to stand proud. :)

That's great news, can you post a pic? reason asking Iain Utah has several disabled geese and she maybe able to give you some good advise on what you can do for your goose. How old is she/he now?

Your goose is very lucky to have found you! I am not sure if Scott knows anyone in Australia, but he does travel internationally. I know he'd be happy to view xrays and consult with your vet, if your vet would want his assistance. Amputation is pretty drastic. Scott was able to do corrective work on my extremely deformed gander by breaking and re-setting bones, then inserting a bunch of pins and rods to hold newly assembled leg together. Is that something you have already discussed with your vet?

Here is a pic of my gander post surgery.

oh wow. that's amazing. my vet rang a bird specialist with no luck. she is 5 weeks old but her leg is to far gone. trying to post s pic of her
