I have a Pomeranian gosling who has a weird leg issue I cannot figure out. It turns out to the side and twists. He can bare some weight on it but certainly not as much as normal. I’ve tried taping and no matter what I do it just keeps twisting. How do I stabilize it straight to let it heal?

For context: 2 weeks old, lives in brooder with towels and thin layer of straw, on duck and geese starter; in medicated and gets niacin added to water.

Pictures may be sideways. I’m sorry I am not sure how to fix that!

That looks like it may be a tendon issue. You can try to splint it, the sooner you do the better the prognosis but sometimes in many cases it doesn’t work out so it’s best to prepare yourself for that possibility.

This has better information.

Thank you!!! I have it wrapped against the body currently. Hopefully he will calm down and stop freaking out about it. I tried a sling but he’d throw himself out of it so I’m kind of at a loss of what else to try and do for him at the moment
