My guineas don't seem to like ants either. In fact the guinea just hatched out babies and they're being harassed by little ants. I'll try the cornmeal to see if that helps.

We have ants everywhere, but fortunately just the annoying and not dangerous kind. I'm sorry about the loss of the little goslings. I just wanted to mention that I have chickens and ducks, and they will NOT touch ants. I think the ants release a nasty pheromone or something.

Yeah, they must. We have piss-ants here, red and black, and they live in the trees. They smell terrible if you squish one but don't tend to bite. I have geese, ducks, turkeys and chickens and not one bird will touch them! They must taste bad.
