Goslings of 2014 Hatch-a-long

I think the knob is from the half chinese mother.  I felt around for a tuft (as there is a chance she is 1/4 tufted roman) but didn't feel anything.  Then again, she was so squirmy that it was hard to feel anything.

Thanks fort the input, though!

This morning I was walking past a completely hidden nest and I got hissed at.  I thought it was a toulouse nest, but when I walked back to investigate the hissing, I saw a white one in the bushes.  There's no telling!  :barnie

You wont feel a tuft. Its just tall feathers on their heads its not a bump in the skull. They arent like ducks.

Hi ruru, I´d imagine it´s the same with goose or incubator. As regards the 32 days, I believe some bigger breed geese go to 32, but mine do 28 or 29, being little ones.
Thank you livininbrazil I thought so but was not for sure because it has been so long since I let the sit their self.

Stormy went broody on one egg yesterday evening, which was not what i wanted so i ran her off the nest today. Since i set 18 eggs in the bator yesterday, i took the egg she had and put it in the bator also cause i felt bad. So now there are 19 eggs in there lol and i already heard from DH "how did you...i mean where did you find your incubator?" I think the Lil bugger tried to hide them on me

funny DH didn't he know that the incubator calls to you?

The eggs in the incubator are still going strong too. Since this is the first batch in the homemade cooler incubator I've been worried the whole time (who am I kidding? I would've been worried the whole time even if it was the most expensive incubator on the market.). Right now I'm counting down the days until they hatch. I'm still undecided on what to increase the humidity to and when since I've seen varying ideas on this for geese eggs. Does anyone have any suggestions or have you had better luck with one method over another?
I use Pete's guide for all my goose eggs.

I have a question on how long it takes the goose to hatch her eggs if fertile. I forget it has been so long since I let the girls incubate their own eggs. Do they go over the 30-32 days?
Same as if we do it... after they decide they have a large enough bunch of eggs.

Just checked. 6 duck pips and one turkey pip. No goose pips yet. But one of the ducks pipped at the wrong end (Seems to be doing fine) and another did something I've never seen before. He pipped externally, and then pipped again about 1/2 inch away from the first pip. Usually they pip and zip, but I don't remember any perforating.

. The way i see it its my hobby. Some women like to shop i like taking care of my animals.
Like me! It drives my teenage son mad, he wants to go to the shopping Mall and his parents want to stay in the back of beyond playing with trees and birds! (he depends on us for rides, there´s practically no public transport service here, and anything for a teenager is an hour away) I´m sure he´d love a mum who liked to shop!
