Thank you, the lady I got them from said she didn't think they were old enough to lay yet. The drake just got his drake feather in last week. So I wasn't fully prepared for laying ducks and am now scrambling to make sure they get the nutrition they need.

Btw, after the 2 ducks laid, the large female mounted and "mated" the smaller female. Since they had both just laid eggs I know they are girls. Is this behavior normal?

yup.. dominance you'll find that your ducks and geese do all sorts of weird stuff

Oh good I was worried the larger female was a little strange.
Thanks, the ducks have only been here 24 hours and are already doing funny, strange, and weird stuff.

My lavender gossie is really light since it fluffed up. I think i love the Toulouse x Tufted roman cross.

Funny thing just happend i was out front checking on the donk and all the geese were there also... A truck goes by and slows down and i hear the driver tell the passenger "lookie there i ve never seen canadian geese this far out from the river!" I almost fell under the donk laughing. I myself have never seen white, gray, or spotted canada geese so i dunno what they were smoking

Funny. Not everyone´s quite as attentive to their birds as we are! (would "obsessed" be too much?) They must have been laying for her too.
Female ducks and geese mount other females.

Same as here, I think! Folks around here call my geese "patos"...means ducks!!!!
