Goslings of 2014 Hatch-a-long

My production toulouse pair are huge, both above the average weight from what ive read. The female is 18 pounds and the male was 20 pounds maybe more now. Two of my romans are above weight too, pretty close to the toulouse in size. Those four are my largest geese.

How big do your Chinese get? And what are you feeding them to get them so big?

I have only weighed the toulouse.
I would guess the brown chinese at weighing 12-14 pounds and the white chinese being a bit bigger at 14-16 pounds. The pieds tend to be right in the middle. Breeding season they are on laying mash, cracked corn, calcium, fruit and veggies and grazing. Flock raiser is no longer available near me. Summer time they Graze for 99% of their meals, they have 20 acres of grass to roam, fruit and veggies for treats. Winter time its cracked corn now with some grazing and fruit and veggies for treats.
My brother who ive told NOT to, likes to sneak them some bread every now and then as well. Since last summer He has cut back to once a week and and half a loaf between the entire flock. Ive had no problems from bread ever and i think its because they free range so much.
None are grossly Fat birds just solid

That's a good diet and some nice big birds. I hope mine get that size, but being hatchery stock, probably not. I still feed mine flock raiser, all the grazing they want, fruits and veggies.

My Toulouse pair are on the smaller scale of of my birds, despite being of good size. I would guess that Chicory is probably 16 lbs at most and Beignet is probably 18lbs. My smallest are my hatchery Africans weighing in under 15lbs. But they are the clear favorites of all our birds because their personalities are amazing.

Ive had people ask me if both my colors of chinese were african. Ive told them No, white are rare and while mine are big they are still finer made birds. My friend recently got some africans no dewlaps but they are huge like my Toulouse. There is a considerable amount of differences between my chinese and those africans.

J those eggs of Beignet were huge compared to Missy's. My lil Buff has feminine features can you say that about geese? lol the Toulouse maybe a boy, time will tell. Missy is getting closer and closer to them now when we go visit.

Missy is hatchery stock.

I've seen a wide variety of sizing in production toulouse, so yours could easily be all purebred (Missy and babies). Your goslings look just like the pair that Beignet hatched. The buff female is a lot smaller than the grey boy, but both are production Toulouse. I personally think you have a male/female pair. Enjoy your time with them when they are so little as they grow up way too fast!
That´d be great, wouldn´t it?!

Oh, I assumed the buff was american buff. It´s a buff toulouse? So if it´s production buff toulouse, it´ll be lighter anyway...... Still love those eyebrows, though!
