Goslings of 2014 Hatch-a-long

I´ve always lived in the countryside, in England and now here...I love it too, in touch with the wonders of nature. As trees have been taken down, the wildlife population has diminished, so we´ve planted a lot of native trees on our patch here and are making the marsh more accessable to our geese as well as wild birds like lapwings, egrets, storks, rail, ducks, ibis, etc, and bit-by-bit we´re seeing more and more beautiful birds that come for the fruits and insects,

and beasties...even little tiny marmosets. And then, of course, our dogs, chickens, ducks and my super gorgeous geese.

This pic is a whistling heron, very odd bird.
I love herons we have a couple of Great Blue Herons who live at our river, although they will dine on ducklings and other small living things I still enjoy seeing them, I think our resident Canada's are going to set up house keeping in the same spot that they have had their nest washed away for the last 2 yrs. I sure hope they get some goslings this year.

Just goes to show with geese...even the wild ones are determined to nest in the favourite spot, regardless of whether it´s dangerous or not!

Ok my big female embden layed her first egg today! :D im going to wait till she lays 6 eggs and then i will put them in the incubator! The eggs are AfricanXembden and the female is big and so is the african gander so i want to see how big the the baby goslings will be and what they will look like! And how big they will turn out and see if they somehow will look like steinbachers and try and create cross breeds to make a breed that no one evers seen :/

Anyway this is her egg laid this morning ...
