Sorry about the gosling. Sometimes things happen it probably wouldnt have made it that far had it been in the nest. Natures way of taking care of animals that just arent right. Its sad none the less. You did eveything you could for him and that is what you have to keep in mind.

When you said it smelled bad that meant it was gonna die in the shell anyway so atleast you knew somethings wrong and you tryed but when ever a yolk smells bad at hatching that means its rotting early but baby is still alive :/ but you did your best ;)
 
Well this is getting pretty close to "pipping" lol shouldnt be long now, then again they always like to make me lie lol
