Hah! I was just thinking that yesterday! I guessed my first chicks wrong. Girls were boys and boys were girls. So with my track record it's very possible! Moaning Malcom myrtle happily follows moose around if u leave them to it.

I´m glad they have each other for company. that´s what´s most important. the other thing will sort itself out later. How long to go until the egg should hatch?

I got my Sebbies~ this morning at 5;30!!! I HAD TO work all day, and when I got home,my daughters were each holding one. I was like, I have waited allllllllll day to cuddle a baby..,now HAND IT OVER>........oh, and to take some pics......posting in a minute. One is sleeping on my neck/shoulder and of course I have to move gingerly so as not to disturb her. (I love those baby trills)

yes, for sure. You will be able to tell if it is too hot, they will not be under it, only to the side. too cool and they will be dead center and trying to be on top of each other. They chill VERY easily.Niacin is a B vitamin. Can you get chick growth?

What do goslings eat?

Can they eat chicken starter crumble?

Yes they can eat chick starter, make sure its non medicated. Wild game bird starter is good too. Also make sure to give them Niacin for the first 3 months and plenty of grazing time.

Here I can´t get waterflock feeds, so I give them chick crumb.  But they only have this for breakfast and then at night. I also mix it sometimes with cracked corn.  Every few days I add Brewer´s Yeast to their feed or water.  During the day they´re in a run on grass, and they have lettuce and other green stuff as extra treats.  They like Melons, too, and dandelion leaves,

Niacin is vitimin B3 (its in vegemite). The only stuff I've been able to find is in the vitimin and minerals section at the chemist - we don't get the same types/varieties as the US. My stockfeed has brewers yeast - I use that instead (it is also high in niacin)

THANKS! My daughters wore the male out, he is tucked in at my neck, and not making any peeping sounds, I can hear him breathing a bit. I keep pulling him out to make sure he is ok, but he just looks tired, not ill or depleted. He also readjusts when I move anything other than my hands. So, he is just wiped out from all of the loves he got today.

Vegemite. Only thing I know about that is it is in a song by ToTo. lol.

I use chick growth. Simple. I don't supplement it, and I have only raised two geese so far. My goose had angel wing (sticks out funny) so I taped it back in place then around her body...I read voraciously here on BYC and watched many You Tube Videos before I attempted to tape. I used horse stretchy stuff. Purple. Very cute. It was on for a week before she finally got it off. Her wing was fine, and still is.

Are you worried about your baby's health?

There are soooo many more posters who know soooo much more than I do. I am pretty good at ducks but geese are relatively new for me. In a month I will have a flock of goslings and I will let most be raised by mama Bonnie.
