When I got all my eggs it was the turkey eggs I bought, she gave me the goose eggs because she was just going to trash them.. I have read several post and articles on the net with almost as many saying to mist them as those that say its not necessary. I made the decision because of the turkey eggs being in the same incubator to not mist them. right or wrong, I am 19 days in with 5 goose eggs, 9 Turkey eggs and 2 chickens eggs in one incubator doing a dry hatch... Humidity is holding at around 25-35 and temps 100.5-101.2... All have great air cells, all show great growth during candling, right where they should be at every stage and I see babies moving and shaking.. I know this totally goes against many of what a lot of you do and I hope you will go easy on me.. I only had one incubator and to date one goose egg was clear and 6 Turkey eggs were clear or early quitters .
when I added the goose eggs its was more of a hey, lets see what happens, now that we see them growing we are actually almost more exited over them, we weren't going to keep any but now we are going to keep at least 2 ( if they hatch)

Ash-Rose:::: did you have to make your peep holes yourself or where the goslings able to do it? I had 5 fertile perfect eggs ready to hatch. 2 of them made their own peep holes. i waited 2 days for the other 3 to come out. By the time I realized i needed to step in and help the 2 peeped goslings completed out of the egg, it was too late and the other 3 had suffocated.
most of the time geese make peep holes around 24 hours after air sac "envasion". i know a few make holes with bits and needles, as i did with my call duck eggs back when i raise call ducks. the first four did it all on their own. but i'll see how the rest go with mine. Hope that helps somewhat

For the goose eggs you will need to raise humidity during hatching, goslings are notorious for drying out and having the membrane stick to them. They can smother that way.

From what I read Geese and Turkeys are about the same 80% ??

Yes. What most of us do, though is wet a sponge or a washclothe with warm/hot water and slip it in with them once they externally pip. Ive had them pop out like popcorn with doing that, thats not always the case though its more to keep them from sticking which makes it easier for them to get out whenever they decide to.
