I posted yesterday I believe [very low key of course] lol since she has only been on the nest 2 days straight now and I am pretty sure she is 100% committed now. Now we just have to hope some are fertile will candle end of week.

thanks for asking.

DON'T SAY THAT!!! Now she's going to get up and pretend she's NOT broody again! OMG, why did you have to ruin it?? LOL!

Found the LED light in my sons room (Room was actually tidy and found it on top of his dresser

) Candled the egg again and I'm pretty positive I see shadowing. Would this mean it had internally pipped?

shadowing... then internal pip (you can sometimes see the baby tapping on the shell) then external pip each stage normally last 12-24 hours before the next stage starts.

Can you see anything in the air sac? that's where it will internally pip. Hopefully.

Essentially, yes. They start to show very small, low shadows when they are about to, because the air cell actually does fall around them (but it's not a "shrink-wrapped" baby necessarily). Then they make that internal pip, and it seems the shadow grows and extends way out from the edge of the air cell. Most times you can see a point on that shadow, which would be their actual beak. The light makes it look like it comes to a sharp point.

Ok, I really don't understand geese. Lol. I brought the 1 week old babies out and put them in the playpen. The older geese stayed close and seemed protective. When the ducks got close to the playpen the babies started calling and all 6 older geese came running and attacked the ducks until they got away from the playpen. I thought the geese were protecting the babies. I let the babies out and 3 of the big geese attacked the little ones. So are my geese bipolar, or confused?

You know she just likes the month of May last year she finally settled in in May too but none were fertile, so hoping they can hatch a couple to raise this year.

Hope lots of things happening doesn't mean mom is sick.
