Goslings of 2014 Hatch-a-long

livin she has just now come outside and I took the gozzies out and she hissed and Sam wanted to taste one so I wasn't about to leave them with them, This is going to take a while. Plus until they "adopt" these babies they are subject to my Muscovy's, LF hens and snakes and at being 3 days old they need alot of protection.

How sweet that you want to raise them yourself.

Anyone seen Serv lately??
I was wondering the same thing J, and yep we are totally in love with these littles, they want to be held all the time which means when not they put up a fuss. But today I will see about getting them something besides the stuffed animal to play with any suggestions. Missy and Sammy were up at the pool and Missy heard the goslings and started making noises and came running down the hill, I don't think it will take long for them to take to them just want them larger so snakes won't be looking at them as food. Not ever having Sammy or Missy in the house this is our first time with goslings and did not realize how affectionate they are. dh is smitten also.

I'm glad you are enjoying them.

They are quite precious when they are little. If you keep them separated from Sammy/Missy for 3-4 weeks, then their imprint will stay fixed to you when they grow up. On the other hand, you lose out on the pleasure of watching Missy/Sammy raise them.

As for toys, the best is to pick grass and toss in their pen. I also hang caged bird toys on sides.

He´s not been on for about 10 days. Maybe he´s gone off to get the fox.

Oh, how sweet, looks like she wants to be a mom to them. Do you take them out there with Missy and Sam while you have time to stay there with them?

That´s a nice number.  What breed is she?  Can´t remember.  so what are the goslings breed-wise?

Mildred is a Brown chinese and her babies are/were 2 white chinese, 1 brown chinese and 1 pied chinese. They are two days old today.
The little pied was killed by a snapping turtle yesterday, we didnt know that they had came to the pond until it was too late...with everything that has been going on we hadnt had time to check the pond.
I waited for them to surface for air and then i shot both turtles, im not having that happen again, once a week now i will set traps for them.

Here are the secret service geese lol these are Ethels goslings at 1 week old with their 2 mommies and 4 daddies lol

I'm so sorry 8 about the gosling doesn't that break your heart, Glad you got them. and I love those babies and their own security guards, don't have to worry about those babies. On land anyway.
