Goslings of 2014 Hatch-a-long

Well my sons B-day pool party is winding down, only 1 last kid to be picked up. But there were no incidents with Snow. He didn't threaten anyone. Not even when they were running around having water gun wars! Snow even walked right behind my dad's chair and brushed up against him. Usually Snow attacks my dad. I don't know why Snow was such a good boy today, but I hope it means he can learn to be nicer with people.

On another note, I am sunburned lol. I was so careful to shade the pool and keep the kids out of the sun forlong stretches, but forgot to take care of myself. Lol. Guess I'm going to be a red lobster for a while.

I expect snow felt out of his depth! It´ll interesting to see how he goes once he thinks he´s the king pin again.

Guys my goose is on her egg and its day 31 and i looked in the egg and I can see the beak pecking at the shell if its not out of the shell by day 33 should i help

Btw she's a chinese goose and I got them at 1 year old in February and i have never seen a baby goose before so please help me i want her to have this baby
Okay, first of all, the beak isn't necessarily pecking at the shell. It may LOOK like it, but when they actually want to peck on the shell, they will definitely do so! But many times it looks like they are pecking the shell, just because of their movement patterns. And if you hear a faint clicking, many people think they are tapping the shell, but it's ACTUALLY just them trying to breath while cramped into that tiny shell with their head bent downwards, sideways, and back upwards to the shell. In other words, their neck is all kinds of twisted and bent while they are in there (they even LOOK deformed when they FIRST come out) which makes it really hard to breathe without some type of noise. And that noise comes out as a click.

So as long as mommy goose has been sitting on them faithfully (and it sounds like she has) then you probably have nothing to worry about. Right now is the time when you need to back off, and let nature take over. Interfering right now will probably do much more damage than good.

Ok i know how to hatch i hatched a bunch of ducks and chickens this year and i know how they look i never knew that about the. Breathing so when they Lose all the air in there they'll pip

Pretty much. Their body actually kinda seizes up when they are low on air and sorta convulses, and that causes the hard strike against the shell to make the initial break. That's also why they don't hatch right after the pip - they aren't ready to come out, they just simply ran out of air needed to continue the other processes.

Probably, all those kids running, yelling, spraying water everywhere probably confused the crap out of him. Normally visitors are quite and stand or sit around talking, so this was a huge change from normal. I am sure will be feeling his normal punk self tomorrow, lol.

My sons got to end the day with a visit from a pair of black bellied whistling ducks. They landed in my yard and were pretty! My flock had to rush over to see the strangers. The ducks stayed for a little, so we delayed putting everyone away to enjoy the wild duck visit. When they took off I could see the envy in my flock, lol. If domestic ducks and geese could get off the ground, I would have lost them tonight. Still, it was a nice way to end the day, I hope the wild ducks come back again.

When i put them away tonight i checked again and when I looked it its body was moving quickly than stopping than it was doing it again it's been in the air cell for over 2 days so how long til i should expect a pip
