I really appreciate you asking ! My current vet is Dr. Mason at Florida Wild. I live in Central Florida close to Daytona Beach. I have had other people recommend UF. I dont know how I feel about going to as teaching facility. I almost had a miscarriage with my son because my intern (?) Dr. didnt catch something that was small and very important.Andrea, what part of Florida are you in? Scott knows a few avian vets in Florida and I can get names from him. I'd also definitely check into UF as they have a wonderful teaching dvm hospital.
When we decided to move from england, we thought about Ireland, as it´s that bit warmer there. But the rain.......
So, Brazil won.Still get the rain, but it´s not the same. We had a good storm the other night, but I think it got to some eggs, and two died in shell. So that Pil goose has just one gosling, (other one infertile) and the other Pil goose has 3 goslings.
My other Normandy type has hatched out two goslings, and for some peculiar reason there are 3 more live goslings in eggs that aren´t quite ready yet. So I´ve removed them from her so she can her 2 out and about, as they´re 2 days old now. The least developed one I´ve popped under another goose, and the two closest to hatching are in the kitchen under a lamp. I hatched one under a lamp yesterday that had difficulties, and that one´s fine and with its mom now. So, total goslings 6 + 3 + 1 + 2 = 12 hatched so far.
The whole year here has been weird. It rained and rained all summer. My son and I feel like there wasnt a summer. There were 3 weeks of very very hot dry weather and now its rainy and cold again. It is going to be an early fall here we can already feel it.Makes ya wonder if we're going to have an early fall. although for about 2 weeks we have finally had hot summer with humidity. I've seen some acorns on the ground and also Buck eyes already. and berries on some of the bushes are red.

I found an awesome post for angel wing that helped fix Forest's problem. I used scotch masking tape. It helps to support the wing. The tape removes easily without hurting the feathers. Maybe once you figure out why the wing is droopy, you can apply the tape as a sort of brace? The key is to use the under feathers as support so bird can still move and flap wing (at body) without wing being able to extend the entire wing. Here is a pic of Oliver. You can see the way I have his wings taped in x's. Tape goes on the inside of the wing as far up as you see on the outside so it supports wing on inside and outside. Be careful to make sure wing is in proper position when folded. Be careful not to tape small feathers on rib cage/body as they will pull out. When I taped Forest's wing, I left it on for two weeks. Changed it and left it on for another 2 weeks and wing stayed in place after that. With a sprain/injury you might need less time. not sure. once you find out where the injury is you can decide if wing needs to be taped to body or taped my way. There is lots of info online about how to tape wing to body too.Droopping wing any advice please byc buds!
i dont think so, i just spent way too long in google play looking for it. i was hoping for one, it sure would be more convenient. as big as BYC is , they should have one.I have used the Chrome browser on both my tablet and my smart phone to access BYC but I have never heard of a BYC app. Is there such a beast?
