The only problem is they are so rare! And europe is the place where they are least rare but yet they are still rare!

I found that pic on the internet, someone in Scotland selling them, but a few years back. Beautiful, aren´t they? So elegant.

Hi can anyone help please I had 2 goose eggs in my incubator 1 hatched last tues was doing ok till last night I moved he/she to a box will a light and found it in the morning almost dead not moving much so put it back into the incubator it doesn't seem to be walking should I leave it in the incubator or in a box with a heat light???? Will it survive???

Hi. Last Tues? So it´s 10 days old, or Tues of this week, and it´s now 3 days old? What sort of light did it have? Needs to be one that gives off heat, and not get too hot, that´ll kill it just as being too cold. A new gos needs 90º, dropping each week by 5º, but also needs a place to be able to get cool. They´re fine without eating for a day or two, then they eat a little, but once they get to about 5 days old they turn into raptors and eat so much, so really all depends on how old it is... 2 days old? Keep it warm, put a low pot with some water in it, and float tiny pieces of lettuce in there to get it to start picking at stuff. And a mirror for company.
On the other other hand, some just aren´t strong enough.

It's 3 days old and just lies there does use its legs and gets stuck on its back I've tried getting the niacin pills but can't find it in the shop so will try chemist tomorrow! I've got a lamp with a 100w glob in it and check the temp its around 95 F it was doing really well till last night

It just doesn't move much at all I have to put the water in front of it so it will drink otherwise it won't!

Sorry you lost it. It just happens sometimes, they just don´t get going. Goslings can be tricky. I had one recently that I didn´t expect to make it, and it´s doing great...you just never know.
What about the other egg? Was it any good?
I don´t feed mt gozzies niacin until they´re around a week old, then I start it, just a bit. Also, I use a 60w bulb for those without their mom, I find I can control the heat a lot better.

Update: Oliver Snow is now comfortable with his new house and me. He knows his name and as soon as I walk out of the house he sees me and honks once. When I call his name he will honk. The ducks have taught him to run up to me and compete for the food I have in my hand and I drop on the ground. He and the other ducks were trying to practically climb on my lap to get the pellets I was holding (Mazuri Maintenance) yesterday!

How do I keep him running up to me and eating out of my hand (or beside me) without getting too pushy? When the ducks eat out of my hand they dont pinch my skin, he does. Today he tried to nibble at my shoes. He is now comfortable being held but still runs from me when I dont have food.

Forest is still terrified of him. My husband built a partition on our florida porch so I can bring Ollie in and spend time with Forest where she is comfortable.

I brought in Violet (one of our new juvenile runner/cayuga ducks). Violet liked being inside but Forest was afraid of her too. How do I get her used to other birds?

Just what your doing putting up a partition so they can see each other but no touching. When I brought home my goose at 4 months old for Sam who was 5yrs old and had bonded with Muscovy's it took at least 3 months for them to bond, she was willing but not him so it does take time but it will happen. Best way to keep Oliver from nipping is to feed in something, I have an old pot with a handle I am using now graduated from a plastic butter bowl that way no nipping when they are being piggy.
