I love the top one so pretty.
Hey, I found a macho tree...thePhellodendron amurense'Macho' or commonly called the Macho Amur Cork tree. "Growing 30 to 40 feet tall with an equal spread, `Macho' Amur Cork tree has a short, thick trunk and an open, rounded canopy which makes it ideal as a durable shade tree. It can be used as a street and parking lot planting because it is fruitless. The deciduous, dark green, pinnately compound leaflets change to bronze and yellow in the fall before dropping. The insignificant yellow/green flowers appear in late May to early June on 2 to 3.5-inch-long panicles. Fruits are not produced on this male selection of Cork tree (Univ. of Florida)". It grows throughout the US except in the deep south so it should do just fine in Europe.
Looks like a Montary cypress
I really do hope that Babe turns out to be a Babe and not a Babe Ruth. Isn't it nice to take/make the time to just go out and sit with your birds? I try to do it at least once a day if not more. It adds a certain kind of peace to my day. This afternoon I went up and sat with the geese for a while and Babe and Missy got into the pool with Sam he nibbled on both of them but didn't push himself on either,so I still hold out hope that Babe maybe a girl, Toots got in too but soon as Sam nibbled on her she got out. {Smart girl}![]()

I know all too well. Mine see me come out the back door of the house and it starts. The geese start honking with joy, the chickens all come running up to the fence/gate waiting for me and the ducks start with that quacking that sounds like an old alcoholic laughing.I love to sit with my flock, the geese seem to really like it when I come out and spend time with them, with the weather turning cold I have to bundle up but they make it worth it just to make me laugh at their funniness. Toots goes into the houses now like she is checking all the nesting places out, probably no eggs till after next year though I can wait she has grown up way too fast. and yep if babe is a girl it will sure make having them much better, I get enough craiziness from the drakes here. I'd love to have 1 drake and 1 gander instead of 4 drakes and 2 ganders. lol

Oh, the return of the cold weather has "turned off" any mateing that Sting was involving himself in so I think the weather tricked them into thinking it was spring. I know it is not supposed to work that way but it just seems like that is what happened.
I am hoping that all this "back seat of the Chevy" carrying on has them all preped and ready to go in the spring. I would like nothing more that a bunch of little goslings running around out there...except maybe 15 or 20 little black Cayugas...why not both!!!!I think that happened here last Jan we had about a week of kinda warm weather and man everyone jumped on the band wagon ducks were mating I even got a few eggs, then back to winter and it all stopped, The geese hadn't even started up mating yet they waited till feb this year. so will be interesting to see what all happens this winter.
