Goslings of 2015 Hatch-a-Long

I guess the geese will have to be locked up for the day

Might be a good idea serv, I always worry about trees falling or uprooting and falling on someone.
Hope you all will be okay and nothing serious happens.
Are they saying high wind and no rain or snow?

Breaking news for Ireland is that we are under Red alert

(worst) for wind!
This is going to be exciting and scary!
Last Red alert warning we had was last year with the record breaking strom in Irish history

Hope it won't be worse!
Batten down the hatches!!!! Hope all goes well. I just looked at the Mirror online and they are reporting some flooding as well as gale force winds there. We have 30-50 mph winds here frequently but this is the south central plains and as used to them as we are they can be deadly. So, keep the birds in the barn and fix some tea and just listen to it howl. Hopefully it will blow itself out soon. Prayers are with you.

I'm sad the last egg died i turned the bator off maybe something with the thin bc ive nvr been able to hatch one so once it warms up ill let her go broody but I can't wait to see all of urs

Aww nate so sorry, hopefully when warm weather gets here she'll be ready to sit on her own, it's such a blessing watch mama goose and papa goose raise their babies.

Thanks

, thank goodness the storm wasn't that bad! The storm came from America so ye probably had it also few days ago.
There is a cold front coming here over the weekend and well into next week.
The weather these days are so awkward.

I am going to start this here in hopes it will bring luck. We finally got past the frigid cold weather and today has been in the mid-50's and sunny all day. Everyone has been enjoying the sun. AND Sting has mated twice each with both Lydia and Pauline today!!!!! (Boy is he going to sleep well tonight)

First, I am hoping that means the menage-a-troi is going to work out and we will not have to go goose shopping. Second, no eggs yet but if this keeps up I am hoping there will be a bunch. After all, particle flow alone determines results...or, the more eggs the more likely there will be babies. Tomorrow they get all new and fresh bedding for the spring and a little extra just in case someone wants to make a nest soon. Question: what is the likelihood that two females would share the same nest and share the brooding tasks?

Everyone cross your fingers that this is the start of something big!

It could still be April or May before anyone decides it's time to sit. Missy started laying in Feb last year and didn't go broody till first of May. Once Mating begins usually 2-4 weeks before eggs come. unless they all fool us again like this past year was very strange with mating and laying so early. Well see soon what this year will bring.
