Got 10+ new birds. No eggs...

I was given 10+ birds from a woman who claimed she was getting a few daily. Together I now have 25 hens. Not a single egg. Nothing. Nada. Zilch. They now have unlimited access to feed. They are not being harassed by predators. Coop is enclosed as in the run. I feed a 16-18 percent layer feed with corn. I have young hens that should start laying anytime now. Red wattles and such. No eggs. They sleep in my nesting boxes and make a mess. They kick the fake eggs out of the coop too. What should I do? Close the coop during the day and force them to use the outdoor roll out nesting box and not allow them in until dusk?

How long have you had the new birds? It can take a while for them to adjust to their new home and get over the stress of the move, etc.

That’s still pretty recent. It can take a couple months to adjust.

Yes it is lol usually it’s faster but for some birds it can take a long time lol

I've probably been scaring them bc I laid like300 lbs of drainage rock into their coop bc we've had terrible mud bc of the rains here. May have scared them. And today I added this rollout nest box. Maybe I should leave them alone lol I love them so though.
