Got 100 Cornish coming

So this is about 5 1/2 weeks ,thought I would share numbers .i sold 15 chicks at one week.So than I had 89 week 4 I lost 5 I think it was do to the heat and did not fill the waters as often as I should . Then the same week I butchered 7 , I had some exposed screws that they got cut on . This week I found one dead not sure what happened to it . I have them in 2 different tractors one is 6x6 and the other is 8x8 moved daily .Been feeding starter 18 percent protein from local feed mill bought 500lbs Monday .It has been costing me 10 to12 dollars for 50lb bag .So when I run out I am going to have them processed .Some of the roosters look like they might dress out at 4lbs . Things I would do different are have 2 8x8 tractors 2 5 gallon water I would buy feed 2 times 500lbs a time it was 2 dollars cheaper a bag.

Ok so not very active thread probably cause I have not got any pictures up. I got birds to he butcher had 75 Cornish , 2 rooster 1 guinea. Figured I had about $1.90 to 2.00 a lbs in the cornish .

Nice nice nice, I got 150 Male Cornish chicks coming in a couple days, might have ordered a few too many, but I'm sure I'll be able to sell some live when they're a couple months old. That's a nicely stocked fridge, I just got to make sure I butcher mine before all 150 or so start crowing, that won't be fun too hear.

Don't think you could get them to live long enough to crow.150 would probly fill 2 freezers .

So are these for home consumption (the ones you ended up butchering after selling a few) or do you sell them? I had thought about trying some next spring after we do a test run for ourselves, but I don't much about the return I should be trying to get per my investment.

For home comsumption and kind of direct market trail run . Can't say you would make a lot but is fun and they taste great .

Where did you order chicks from pine shaving .What kind of price did you pay .

Moyer chicks online, they give free vaccination and I paid around $225, that's with shipping. Not a single one was dead when they shipped and they are just now starting to grow the tips if their wing feathers.
