Got a fox outside the hen house

I saw a fox last night run around the out side of my coop and run last night around 7pm and it was back at 5:30 this morning.

I put these sandbags along the bottom board of the run last year. This bag was already ripped open and the fox was trying to dig here.
Any suggestions on getting rid of this fox if it keeps coming back?

Any fox that has returned and bothered our birds or coop has died of lead poisioning. They are persistent and will keep trying.

This one hasn’t stuck around long enough to be “poisoned” yet.

Hmm..you might have to hole up close by somewhere at the time of day he usually comes around. Have a good line of sight. It may take a few days. Make sure and reenforce the coop and run in the meantime.

Fox are so sly. Make you believe they will be around the same time, but change things up.

In all seriousness though, fox are hard to deter and i havnt found or heard anything that works except to dispatch them. There pretty determined.

Dogs do pretty well at keeping them away/scaring them off when they do come around! Our dogs are full time outside, and have scared off countless raccoons, opossums, and coyotes.

My dog is more like a snack probably. Only a 5 pound yorkie
