Got a start on your garden?

Preston is roughly an hour from me via the M6 and M56 motorway....

But we are not the Midlands, we are further North than Birmigham (Midlands) ..... Preston is further North from me again.......

Have to go out.... be back later.... have a good day everyone

I am the biggest cheater when it comes to the garden.
I have real issues with all this snow, ice, yucky stuff.
So last year or so when they became available for a reasonable price I invested in the Aero Gardens, omg I will never look back in the winter again.
granted their selection of seeds available is limited as yet but they have a starter set just for your own seeds. you pop off the cover and set the styro form planer in the base add water and neutrients and whaalaa you have veggie plants growing in a week.
great for starting outside sets.
they also have the cutest little units , there is even a little lady bug set up. just adorable.

this is not a sales pitch by no means , I just love this little compact garden system.

Mahonri, are you boasting?
Love your new avatar, btw.
All I can do is put the seeds in the dirt, in the pots in my sunroom....I have tomatoes and peppers sprouting just this week. I just have to baby them until May. But I usually challenge Mother Nature and sneak things in the ground the last week or two in April. Good thing I have plenty of plastic.

We can't usually put anything outdoors until mid-May or June due to the danger of frost. However, I do have my daffodils and tulips, some of which have been poking an inch or so above the ground since January.

Expecting snow tonight and "significant snow" Monday! But the green house is half built since we had 60 degrees yesterday!

I will proubly put it back where the old chicken coop was.....Nice dark soil there....

Despite chilly weather and wind today, I plan on planting some frost tolerant today. Peas, carrots, cabbage, spinach etc...

I've also planted in the last couple weeks a couple apple trees, an almond tree, a Marion blackberry (to compliment the wild ones round here), 8 strawberries, 3 grapes, 3 raspberries, and four blue berries.

Still might do a few more trees, just gotta wait for another pay check---bills always seem to get in the way of the stuff I want to do.

The scuppernongs/muscadines have been pruned and potatoes planted. I have a few cabbage plants to put out this week. I got my seeds started a little late, so none sprouting yet. We have so many trees and so little sun!

WE're hopefully going to get potatoes, asparagus, strawberries, onions, and garlic in the ground today.

That's assuming I'm not totally wiped out with this cold.

We are getting snow tonight and tomorrow. Blech. No gardening today!

I am placing my seed orders today. Yay!!!! I hope to get those started over spring break so they are ready to go in the ground in May.

Come on spring!!
