. Thanks for the feedback on the incubator. I was hoping people would say it stays at a stable temp. Im nervous to botch my first batch. And im sure it is addicting just like chickens themselves. Im in the process of building my 4th coop I also have a chicken tractor and we are getting a used coop and run from friends to use as a grow out pen. Also I heard word from my father that he may help me build a small poultry barn this spring

. And ive only just started with chickens 9 months ago and turkeys 6 months ago. Hello my name is Kristin and I think Im addicted to poultry.

Oh speaking of turkeys WIll their eggs do fine in this incubator also? Im sure they are probably universal but want to make sure.
Well you ARE addicted already! 4 coops.... bad as me!
Better build some more for all the chicks you will be hatching constantly from now on.i HAD 8 BEFORE I BOUGHT MINE. Now up to ....26....

I Ordered more eggs today..nearly DEC...I am crazy.
Have 2 hatches of babies i n my spare bathroom as we speak (now brooder room).... Have NO idea where i will go with them when they are big enough...so cold out..May be in there all winter!

Think i have to build a room in my big shed/garage .if i can get all the junk piled miles high out first....SO CHICKEN ADDICTED!!! ..

Quote: I hope they aren't LF, they won't last that long in the house, between the dust and the smell as they get bigger will make you want to put them out in the cold. I would suggest that you stack the stuff mile high and put them out there so they can acclimate to the weather as it gets colder. I have the same plan, just waiting on the old man to fix the ceiling, and finish the netting around the walls the dumb *** took down when we first moved in 8 years ago, and never did anything with, I think he did it because I wanted it for something else, and he had other plans. Whatever that garage is a tragic mess. I only wanted one half of it. Now I can't wait for it to fall down, collect the whole 15,000$ and build a nice barn. Just saying

Congratulations! After much research, we purchased this exact incubator last summer. We had two very successful hatches. Very simple to use, and lots of fun for the kids to be able to look through the window and see chicks hatching! I have nothing but good to say for this incubator.
We did a dry hatch, letting the natural humidity do its job, but we live in the pacific northwest, so no shortage here on humidity. Then I used a natural sea sponge placed on a plastic lid right under the vent hole for lock down, all you have to do is squirt water into the vent hole and it lands right on the sponge and then you don't have to open the lid. Enjoy your new present and best wishes to you!

Thank You very much. Im glad to be hearing such good things about this incubator. I dont really know yet why some people do dry hatches and some people use humidity. I will have to read up on all of that. I was planning on using the humidity as that is what the instructions call for but Id love to hear differences if maybe someone has even tried both ways or knows why people chose one over the other.

We started the first hatch with water as per directions that came with the bator, but the humidity was way to high. The air cells were not growing as fast as they were supposed to, so we switched over to dry incubating and the air cells were much more on track. There are some great pics on here about air cells, just do a search. Have fun...
