Got free chicks...I’d like to figure out what breeds they are.

Is she really hard to catch and super not tamed? My chick is and she’s a danish brown leghorn. Her name is Squirrel

Great name! Yes, she is not tame at all, and hides behind the three Barred Rock chicks. When I picked her up yesterday to put her in the box to bring her home, she sounded like she was being murdered! I put it down to not being handled by the previous owner, but the Barred Rocks who came from the same person are not as “squirrelly” as she is.

I have 4 or 5 Brown Leghorns, coming 7 weeks old, and "camera shy" and "squirrelly" describe them perfectly! So far I have named two of them Wild Thing and Ms Hide if that tells you anything, lol. My 15 Easter Eggers are all over me at snack time, 5 of them eating out of my hand and one asking to be picked up. I don't thing I'll order BLs again, I didn't realize they were a flighty breed. Are all Leghorns this way?

Yes! Mine does sound like she’s being murdered. I think this type of breed just is super wild because they are the closest to their wild Relatives The’ jungle fowl’ what they used to be until human made them into pets/tamed animals they also look a lot similar
It’s kinda like the wolf and the husky, well I think they are really close...

I have a white leghorn, and shes anything but shy and flighty. She's always running to me for treats and at night time seems to enjoy cuddles. In the day otherwise she doesn't care to be touched
