I got my hatchery chicks today; so far, so good, both of the Polish chicks are a bit peaked and are recovering (hopefully) in their own ChickU. But, go figure, those are the only ones I call tell apart! Well, except for the cochins, which definitely have fuzzy legs...

Let's see, I got BRs, BOs, BCs, NHRs, BJGs, one WJG,

Ugh! I think it's the buff orps, white JG and the NHs that all look the same (yellow chicks), and the BRs and black JGs that look the same (black backs, white tummies), and then there are a handful of smokey-tan colored chicks that dont' match any of the pictures

I'll have to take pics and see what y'all think!

I ordered the following:

5 blue cochins (straight run)
6 barred rocks (pullets)
6 buff orpingtons (pullets)
5 black Jersey giants (pullets)
1 white Jersey giant (cockeral)
3 Rhode Island reds (pullets)
3 New Hampshire reds (pullets)
2 silver Polish (straight run & currently separated)
plus the free exotic chick

Here's basically what I have:

And a LOT of lighter colored chicks (which I figure could be the white JG, BOs or NHRs...)

1-3 are cochins. They all appear variations of blue, although the one in the 1st pic could be splash. (not sure if that's blue or splash)
4 I think is your black giants
5 are barred rocks
6 I dunno, white giant maybe?
7 Could be RIR, but I think these are NHR. (my RIR was darker)
8 ?
9 ?

And the light yellow chicks are your BO's.

The #7s are darker in person than they appear in the pic, and are the darkest red. The NHRs are lost somewhere in the sea of yellowish chicks (of which I have 9 - I figure they are 6 BOs and 3 NHRs).

And the only thing I can think of for 8 & 9 is that they are both free exotics - but I will have to count everyone to figure out if I got 32 or 33 chicks (go figure, haven't done that yet)

Oh, and 8 and 9 are both "extra" chicks. So, not on the list (per my counting - I have 33 total, ordered 31).

Pics 1-3 are variations of blue cochins
#4 is BJG
#5 is BR
#6 is ?
#7 is RIR
#8 is ?
#9 is ?

What a fun group!
