Got my bator, some questions.

I have found a sponge
like this.

I have it wiht the blue part down and the yellow part wet, laying flat on the blue part in the top corner of the bator, would this be alright?

btw - the dish under the fan in this pic is not filled with water, it is just there to lift the fan higher cause I had a chick try to climb on top of it a couple hatches ago - he almost stuck his foot down into the fan blades

after doing all of this changing, with the sponge in there, and leaving the top off ,etc.
the temprature is 97.0 degrees
and the humidity is 64

What I would do now is to leave it in there overnight and see what the temp and humidity says in the morning, then put the eggs into the bator.

for temp and humidity, what would be normal to gve me the idea to put the eggs in there.

Or, if you just can't stand it any longer

put the eggs in, and make sure in the morning it is reading right. The first day or two won't harm the eggs too much if the temp is low or the humidity is high - just so long as the temp isn't too high (like over 102 for too long).

alright, and i dont tweak the knob on top of it when i pull the cover off to turn the eggs?

the temp seems alright;
but im having problems with the humidity.
i guess it will jsut take some tweaking
but im assuming 67 is too high?
