Got my first 2 chickens.

The one hiding is a little smaller and is always trying to hide under the bigger one.
I was going to name her Sister Scary. Until you open the door, then that one is the first out and becomes the leader and trouble maker.
I got the north end fenced in and my hands had enough wire tyeing for one day.
I put up this temporary barricade at the south end and the little one kept climbing and flying up the junk pile to get over it. The bigger one would not until the smaller one started hollering. Then the bigger one flew right over the plywood.

It's been a very interesting week. I got them on Monday, 2 half grown sex-links that came from a farm where the chickens had wiped out all life. I'm waiting another week for the 2 Dominique & Americana to get old enough to pick up.
At first they wouldn't touch the Dunmore chick starter/grower. All they wanted is to eat clover & grass all day as fast as they could. I never saw them take a break or nap or drink all day, then they were too exhausted to roost & just fell asleep on the floor. Wednesday I mixed plain yogurt with the Dunmore & cream of wheat. It sat in the coop for a day & they wouldn't touch it. Thursday I sat it out on the ground & they went at it & fought over it like two Velosa Raptors until it was gone. They were stuffed and went over to the mulch pile and dug them self in & covered them self with just there head sticking out & took a nap. Ever since when I put them in the coop with the yogurt Dunmore & cream of wheat they devour it.
Just got the gate finished. They were good and didn't try to jump the low baracade I had set up all week.
