Got my first complaint about fresh eggs

I have lots of fresh eggs that I sell and people love them, I won't really eat them, the smell is really strong and makes me sick too!

LOL. Sorry

I think folks have forgotten what "flavor" means. Most Americans like salt, sweet, and fat. When something has a real flavor, meaning it tastes like what it is, not like salt, sugar, or fat; they get suspicious.

Case in point: grocery store strawberries versus home grown.
Or eggs, or corn on the cob, or whatever. We've forgotten what food is supposed to taste like.

You know, I think our senses have been "dumbed down" over the years from all the processed prepackaged mass produced food we are sold. Then when we encounter "real" food, some of us don't know how to adjust.

We love the eggs, but I must admit, our fresh chicken we had processed wasn't that exciting. It wasn't bad tasting, it was just different enough that the family wasn't thrilled.

How sad it is that we as a society have forgotten what food is supposed to taste like. I think we were done a great disservice by the likes of Ray Kroc and Sara Lee.....

Wow my chickens eggs are soooo yummy. I just made egg salad sandwhiches and could barely get the stuff on the bread before eating it! I don't think I could ever buy a store bought egg again. What am I gonna do in the winter when they don't lay?

Now boil up some crab and I am out the door in a hurry....

I'm actually due very soon, but the sense of smell is ridiculous. It's driving my family crazy.

"Who told you you could eat cheetos right before dinner?" (From the bedroom LOL)

I was basically fine with our homegrown eggs until I boiled some up for my boys-- those ones had to be in another room, and even then I had trouble.

...has to buy eggs now because his fiancé's daughter won't eat my fresh eggs because they are too dark.

Yeah. I can't tell you how many times I've cracked open a fresh egg and thought "This would be so much nicer if it was pale, watery and flavourless".

Honestly, after watching one of my hens guzzling down worms she found under a tree like there was no tomorrow, I thought my eggs smelled a little strongly, too. That lasted for one meal, when I remembered how good they taste.

People are crazy. You can't change them... sadly enough. I love fresh eggs and would rather have them than anything else. The only thing that irritates me is when people sell fresh eggs and don't at least wipe them off... there's nothing grosser than chicken eggs with chicken poo on them

.

And speaking of preggers.. when I was pregnant, my hubbies body wash suddenly caused me to hurl. It was the funniest thing. I couldn't stand him smelling like old spice.

Yes...sometimes it is better to NOT watch what your hens eat. When I was a child, I had a RIR that LOVED to hunt down & eat snakes, she would walk around trying to swallow with the snake tail hanging out of her mouth...creeping my mother out

Mom refused to eat any of the RIR eggs after seeing her do that a couple of times.
