I was so suprised when i went out to find this. Then she skipped a day with no egg, then the following day she laid another egg that was a little smaller than this one and a shade or two darker than this one. I thought EE's were the last to lay. I have a white rock, SLW and Rhode Island red that are 19 weeks old and no eggs from them yet.

How soon will my EE hen lay larger eggs? I now run to the hen house several times a day looking for more suprises.

The brown and white egg are store bought eggs.

Congratulations! I just had the same experience, one of my 16 week old EE's laid a green egg day before yesterday, but nothing since then.

Lucky! I have a 21 week old bantam EE that has not started yet!

Congrats...that is early for an EE! I'm going to go out and have a talk with my EE pullets who are over 20 weeks old. Slackers!

Yaaaaaaaay! It's fun getting the first egg, even if you've been getting many many before, it's cool when you get the first eggs from a batch of chickens.

She skipped a day and then gave me another egg that was a tad smaller and a little darker green. Its so exciting. I had 12 other pullets that are due to lay anytime so its so fun to go check those nest.

How lucky are you! Mine are 22 weeks old and nothing. Although, they must be getting close because their combs are changing! Congrats!
