I have two year old bantam hens from a friend and they have been laying...big deal no excitment there. I have been patiently waiting for my own 30+ hens that I have raised since a few days old to start laying. Well today was the day! I know one of my Seabrights layed because I saw her in the box all morning. But dont know what one laid my first big brown egg...well it was smaller than regular size one but I'm not complaining. There was a little blood on the shell but I'm sure that is normal for the first time? I just cant believe I'm excited over eggs! I really need to get a life....lol
