Got my first egg today from...

The chicken I thought was a roo! She is 19 weeks 2 days old today and after some crazy chicken behavior today, decided to lay an egg.

Twix was a little crazy today. She came up on the deck and stood by the door yelling away at me three times today. Then she decided to go over to my neighbors house, then the garage roof, and finally I decided to put her in the coop. She sat in the nesting box for awhile, then in the middle of the floor and finally laid an egg.

After about half an hour of sitting outside in a hole she dug in the dirt, she was back chasing grasshoppers.

Oh and she even flew up on my German Shepherd's back.. They both just stood there not knowing what to do. Ha ha Couldn't get a picture though. Too bad.

Congratulations --- all of our girls exhibited crazy chicken behavior right before their first few eggs too, after the first one - we knew it was "the day" with the others. Enjoy!!

So Twix looked like she was going to lay again today. Really crazy and sat in the nesting box for an hour. It's now almost 7PM and nothing yet.

The good news is the rest of the flock look like they will start laying any day now.
