No problem. That's another mistake I made. I only gave my dog towels in his cage, After about a week sleeping with just towels a mass kind of just apeared on his elbow but it turned out it was just Hygroma which is just a collection of cerebrospinal fluid without blood, located under the dural membrane. It's normally non-painful and common in large dogs to get hygroma so it's best to have a cushioned bed for them to sleep on.Thanks, that is a good tip. I just have some towels in there now, but I can get something softer.
Oh, that is weird looking. I do want to avoid stuff like that even if it isn’t painful for themThis is a picture of it on a dog just so you know what it looks like.
Yes, this is in line with my expectations from what I have read. In the future I hope to always have at least one adult and add just one puppy at a time. An adult should do a better job teaching than I canTwo pups without an adult will require more effort on your part. They will egg each other on when it comes to causing trouble. You are two years away from being able to trust them with chickens without supervision. You will have protection from foxes on down within 6 months.
We did inquire, and the answers were generally positive without being unbelievable. The breeders struck me as honest people, but I have no proof other than their word. So only time will tell.I also agree about possible health issues in the future. Did you inquire about what health screening the parents had, and do they have many old relatives?
Puppies tend to chew on soft things like a doggy bed. I went through one bed placed in the crate for comfort before realizing that they don’t need it until they are older. I would wait a little while before adding a bed. I’m wondering if some straw wouldn’t do for now since they are outdoor dogs. My in-laws line their dog houses with straw bedding and they do well. Thanks, that is a good tip. I just have some towels in there now, but I can get something softer.
The breeder that we got them from says that they can, but you have to train them to look up. She has had success with getting their attention on a ball or stick and throwing it upwards.Do Pyrenees also protect against hawks?
