Got my incubator

Got my incubator and set it up at 4pm yesterday. Factory set at 100.00°f. Put 2 different thermometers in it. Stayed reading around 98, moved it up this morning to 100.5 and is staying around 99.5 on both thermometers that are in there, humidity is correct on the display. My house is at 67-70 at all times. It's a farm innovators 2450 with the egg turner. But is there a easier way to get water into the tray with the egg turner in there?

Try a watering can to add water without removing the turner.

No matter what you use for a thermometer, your thermometer is LYING unless you have calibrated it. I calibrate all of my thermometers against a good medical grade thermometer. Put both in a cup of 100* water, and use that as my calibration standard.

Before setting eggs:

1. Please, run that bator for a few days, check all areas of it for consistent temps. Most bators have some high and low spots, even with a fan. You need to know how much variance you have. While you are checking it, run the turner, and if possible, put some sealed containers of water to approximate the volume of eggs you will be setting.

2. While doing that, read all of "hatching eggs 101" in the learning center. After reading it the first time, go back and read it again.

THEN YOU ARE READY TO HATCH EGGS.

Definitely check on those cool spots with a turner in involved. Mine loses a lot of heat through that hole where the wire passes. I stop that hole up to minimize the heat loss.

Mine is opposite...the side the turner cord runs out is perfect. The other side is at 98.
