My neighbor is new to chicken keeping. She had a flock of 8 chickens about 6-8 months old. She is so excited about her first egg. So I helped out a little... lol
She called me all excited that she has her first egg. I convinced her that the first one is so special it just has to be pan fried. She called me again couple of hours later laughing and cursing me out in a friend kind of way. See, as she tried to crack the egg on the side if the pan, it wouldn't crack open. She accidentally dropped it, she told me, and it still didnt crack open. As she picked it up she figured out it was a hard boiled egg that I had planted in her coop. HAHAHA
I wanted to be a fly on the wall to see it, but the story is still good after years. I think it was 10 years ago-ish. So, please dont let a perfectly good trick go to waste on a brand new chicken owner. They are the most fun. My next idea is planting about 2 dozen eggs at once and then easter eggs already colored. I just need more new and unsuspecting chicken owner friends. Hehe
