Got our ducklings!

It's the thought process of a 7 year old.. The 7 year old is the one that said "A fox won't mess with TEN Ducks.."

I have two Pekins, a male and female, and they are fine together.. after a day they didn't seem to notice the missing Khakis..

I've set snares, and have started a bait station to bring in the fox and other predators before I set traps there. He/they won't be among the living for long.

Aww bless, one way to deal with the loss. I wish you success in keeping your flock safe. Seems it's never ending and we can't let our guard down for a sec. glad to hear your Pekin has a mate to keep her company.

One year later, I've learned a few things about our ducks.

1. They can change clean water to a mud hole in 2.87 nano seconds
2. They would charge a grizzly bear for a handful of peas
3. They will happily lay their eggs in their bed if they have enough straw. If they don't like the amount of straw - you will have to search for the eggs.
4. They like to supervise any project I do in 'their' yard.
5. I have one that likes to be petted. One or two others will let me pet them once in a great while. They will all 'jump' into your arms now & again. More of a chest bump kind of thing.
6. Ducks are a lot of fun to watch. And messy!
