Went into work later this morning then usual. While I was letting the dog out before I left, I heard one of the 19 week old girls raising a ruckus in the hen house.
I saw her come out, so I walked down to the run to check on her. I looked through the fencing and she seemed fine. I got to work, and a coworker that we gave 6 of our chicks to, came bursting into my office asking if we had gotten any eggs yet. He had gotten two eggs the day before. When I got home tonight I checked and lo and behold we had a brown egg on the ground in the run, and a green egg fron an EE inside the henhouse. The nesting boxes now have golf balls in them to give the girls the idea of were to lay at. My dad in Michigan ask's every time I talk to him if we have egg's yet, so I had to call him and let him know tonight about them.
It may be my imagination, but the girls sure seem proud tonight.
