Got the new Bator! (20 Fuzz butts out of 26 eggs!) PICS ADDED!

I have an earily hatchling! The first baby is out already. Today is day 20 and I didnt really expect anything until at least day 22 because of that power outage. But alas I have a baby. I can see 2 other eggs pipped so far. I hope to come home from work tonight at 9 pm and see many more pips! That would be wonderful! The first baby is a beautiful partridge with a HUGE vaulted skull. (yes thats a good thing with silkies) I am so excited! I'll update again tonight when I get home.

Thanks!!! I just hope I see more pips soon. I would hate to think of only getting 2 or 3 babies out of 23 eggs! But with that long power outage I my hope are not to high. I'll update again tonght when I get home from work. JEN

Well its 10:10 pm and I am up to 6 babies so far! I have 4 partridge and 2 buffs out! I see 3 other pips so only time will tell. I have 23 eggs that are in there that are suppose to hatch tomorrow! I'll try to update in the morning!

So far this morning I have 7 babies! 2 buff, 1 white, 1 dark blue or black, and 3 partridge. I was hoping for a few more, but who knows. I see 2 other eggs pipped....only time will tell now.

I'm up to 10 chicks now! So far I have 4 partridge, 3 white, 2 buff, and a black. I have 3 more eggs pipped so I am still hoping for more babies! I'll update again in the morning! JEN

yep I still have the cochins, but there not laying now. Plus they have developed a taste for eggs! When they do lay the eat the darn things! I guess I should have never started feeding them cooked eggs! GRRR!

Were up to 12 babies now! And there are 5 more pipped in the incubator. YIPPEE!!! One egg had pipped and died though! I checked on it when I grabbed the chicks out this morning and it was not breathing or moving so I chipped away a litte of the shell and it was obviously dead but I could tell why. There way a jelly like substance in the egg where it has pipped and it looks like it suffocated. Poor thing!
