Over here in Ireland at a poultry fair in a rainy muddy field today.

Wow, seeing as you found them in Ireland I don't know if my answer will help. Like Rainplace I think it is a pintail. There is an online website called whatbird.com where you can enter the information you know about a bird and it narrows down the list of what it could be. Currently the database lists birds of North America. Are the birds you have native to Ireland?

Here's a link to a white-cheeked pintail. The photo on the description looks similar to your bird.

Enjoy them, they're beautiful!

I think you're right about them being the white-cheeked pintail, but they shouldn't have been there. You picked up wild birds? Or someone was selling them?

They hail from the Caribbean, so I assume these are captive-bred exotics. Especially due to the light color phase on the second - as best as I can tell from photos, males and females look the same in the wild. Unless it's another kind of Pintail altogether...

How about that third duck? Is s/he supposed to be the same kind?

Thanks everyone.
These are not native irish wild birds.
I bought them from a poultry seller.
The third duck is a campbell mixed with a magpie i think he said. Also meant to get a bluey grey colour.

Those are some beautiful Bahama Pintails. The darker one is the normal color, the lighter one is Silver phase.
