We just need to know how things work in their situation. Is it just the coop or did they get in a run to get to the coop?

Is that a gap that I am seeing there in your picture in the upper right side corner? There seem's to be a lot of light coming in there? Is that were your predator got in at?
I was told just the coop is fine if it's just strictly for sleeping. I am up as soon as the sun comes up every day and I let them out so they aren't in there too long. When the sun goes down to when it comes up. Why do your chickens roost outside? Do you have to physically put them inside and that's why you let them sleep outside that night?
What do you have for predator protection? How are you set up? Run? Apron? Aerial cover?
My guess would be raccoon.
