My barredrock, Pita has been lethargic for a few days now. She doesn't want to eat or drink and she was limping yesterday. I looked at her feet and don't think it's bumble foot, but they are swollen. She has been eating layanna layer crumble her whole life. She is 5 or 6 years old. Anything ideas on what to do for her would be much appreciated. Thanks!

There is some swelling between her toes on the right foot. How does the footpad look--any scabs? Gout might be a possibility, mycoplasma synovitis also, or bacterial infection from bumblefoot. Here is another thread to look at in case it may be similar:

Here are some articles on gout to read:

Thanks for the info. I couldn't get the second atricle to come up. She didn't have any scabs on her feet today, I'll check again in the morning. What can I do to help her? She didn't get off her roost today. I got her to eat a little food and grass out of my hand

Her name is for pain in the a** because she is usually into everything! She isn't laying anymore, getting too dark. Ok should I switch her food? What can I do to help her? Is there anything? Thanks!

I just checked her feet again and there are no scabs or sores. In between her toes is getting swollen. She will eat a little crumble if I hand feed her but not much. Should I cook for her? Would the apple cider vinegar in the water help? Should I make her drink? Would metacam help? Thanks for the help

Then it is probably swelling from gout or possible MS, not bumblefoot. Once gout is present, and since it may be caused by many possible things, there is little to do for it. I would just feed her a good balanced chicken feed. In young pullets the diet would include giving less calcium. If she does lay when there is enough light she would still need a layer feed. If you don't care about eggs, use Flock Raiser with less calcium. KikisGirls article is good. Here is another:

You posted it first silly.
I was just re posting it.

You said she has been eating Layer her whole life. Does that include as a chick? That would be a problem. Additionally, continuing to eat feed that is 4% calcium during annual periods not producing eggs likely has taken a toll on her kidneys. Chickens have 6 kidney segments and as they are damaged by processing excessive calcium, urolithiasis and gout can ensue. Once the kidney segments are damaged, it really isn't reversible.
Lots of water and a non-layer feed is about all you can do.
