I think the "X" signature should be outlawed since many of us had education. If they can not read or write well, at least they should know how to cursive their names to sign important documents and letter writing by snail mail.
You BET I will teach my daughter cursive writings when she finishes  her block writings (without tails). I think it is really important, IMO. I don't care if you are fourth grader to high school, get some cursive lessons and it can help you in life in the long run. Glad for DD's teachers which they intend to teach ALL of their students cursive writing, proper grammer placements. My high school teacher faulted me for being too "wordy" which I loved to write as much details with new words to be put into use. It was FUN!
I must admit print is easier on the eyes as I am older and seeing less and less cursive writings nowadays and rarely ever have any snail mails. Hope not all is lost!
