Grandpa with Tuberculosis - ENTIRE FAMILY EXPOSED

Don't panic if you test positive... I was exposed to TB 40 years ago and have the antibodies for and will test positive every time to a TB test. I always pass the X-ray and have never been sick with the disease nor am I a carrier.... hope this helps.

Also, many people who come into this country are not/were not vaccinated against many diseases. They bring it in and then it spreads.

You get it by being around people who have it. very contagious. Around here the health dept has authority to lock people up if they have active TB, until it is resolved
Yes there are new strains that are resistant to treatment, and it is making itself more of a problem.
I don't think there is a vaccine, but it can be treated.

Jeesh.. kinda scary..
I remember when i was an aide... if someone suspected of having it.. they needed to be in a special sealed room..with seperate duct work at all..

Exposed to TB ten years ago at work. Guy I worked with for years and years and years turned up with it.Took a test, came back negative. At that time the Dr told me it was highly unlikely that I could or would contract TB via such exposure.
