Granny's gone and done it again

Little warmer out there today. I filled the bird feeders too so when we finished we come in and say by the windows to get warm and watch the birds . I seen a few cardinals, a pilited woodpecker . she got nosy but never did go to the feeder. some crows after the frozen cracked eggs and littles I couldnt see well enough to id.
H20, I meant was it going to help her crohns . I know it taste good . I tasted it.

I am wiped out and haven't even done anything today. Super early start to get the younger boy to an event at 6:30 this morning, and it's over an hour away. I need more sleep! Poor hubs too... he's doing all the driving. Nice sunny though.

coffee not working, Bone broth an epic fail yet again. No fat on top to remove no gel. Did I ever tell y'all I HATE the torture chamber ?
Not an epic fail. You made a healthy meal for DD. There are plenty of other nutrients beside the collagen that will be good for her and broth will be easier on her system.

It's what h2o said, you need more bones with more connective tissue and cartilage for the collagen gel. That's why neck bones, knuckle bones, and oxtail are good to use. The hardest part of this whole process is finding the bones. You have to keep looking. Maybe contact someone who slaughters or butchers and see if they have anything cheap. Ask at the meat dept at the grocery. Don't suppose there is an old fashioned butcher shop there? Do they have those any more?

but will it help her ?
Better than nothing for sure!

the only time this turned out right was when I made it for bandit and I THINK I culled one of mine and skinned it then cut it in half then threw the whole thing in a pot. I picked the meatoff and fed him that and gave him the gel.
Yes. I told you a whole chicken or small turkey would work great. Roast it, eat the meat, and cook the carcass. Ribs and feet have good connective tissues and all the other cartilage... good stuff.

Krogers sells a whole roasted chicken thats really good. I will pick one up next time Im out for dinner .
Good idea. It still won't make much broth, so keep looking for necks and feet. Save it up in the freezer until you have enough to fill your crock pot. The broth you made would probably have gelled if you used less water.
