That’s great! We finally got some rain here, and the plants in my garden are still growing! I figured that deep cold would kill them.
Hi granny, where did you go?that looks like a good idea but Im afraid one of those bricks would get knocked over on a chicken . Or my foot.
. Wonder if it was the same hen that laid the first. I finally got a couple of eggs. The second one today in about 2 monthsView attachment 1232596 View attachment 1232596 View attachment 1232596
I am happy to make some progress. I want to get it organized in there. Now i can hang the parts bins on the wall by the workshop. Also going to build a bin for the wooden skids i get free so they take up less space.
Oh, and i got another egg today! This one the hen was setting on it in the corner of the coop. So it was clean and warm.
That's what I've been wondering.Do you think someone would have hit him then brought him up on your porch..?
Was there blood on the steps or drag marks in the dirt? That's what I've been wondering.
She's not a good mother. She was ready to pop when someone dumped her here. I put her a box with a towel in it on the porch. In a very cold night she had 5 puppies on the porch during the night & they were all dead the next morning. Next litter when she weaned them she lead 3 of them off in different directions into the woods & left them. I could hear them but it was too grown over for me to look for them. I have 2 of them left. Last litter only one survived. She had them in different places like under storage buildings. I think she wasn't nursing all of them. Im thinking about carrying her to the shelter. That is sad. Why only three pups survived? Is something getting them?
No to bothWas there blood on the steps or drag marks in the dirt?
