Cows cost $800-$1000 and up. Even baby calves are not cheap.

Can someone tell me why hamburger is at $5.00 a lb. ?

their meat has more then doubled. I cant see the price of grass going up.

Drought in some areas means they have to buy and truck in hay.

They don't get all that much grass, hay and feed is what most live on. Plus they need a lot of shots, vet care etc. And it takes a long time to raise them. Not fast like chickens.
