Alley I lost your quote. I wasnt sure when they were due because I wasn’t sure when she started setting. I saw a clutch of honas eggs, but didn’t get them. A few days later I locked the coop. A few days after that I went for the eggs and was surprised to see a broody on them! Luckily she had food and water. The honas had all migrated to the layer coop but I guess I was miscounting, because one was clearly left behind. So I when I candled i guessed that she was 7-10 days in. And I was right on the money.

are these the Cochin-hona eggs?

Yep that’s all that’s left. So currently 16 fluffy butts out of 18 eggs. Not bad.

but one can still hatch right ? I am being dense it seems . LOL Thats an awesome hatch rate . Better then any I have had except once I had 100%

if the pipped one hatches it’ll be 17/18. I get pretty good hatch rates from my eggs. Others not so much.

Definitely hona, might be cochin mixed or not. I’ve seen the cochin roo mount them, but others could too I guess. We’ll see!

well Mae/Chance passed in my hands around noonish. And Beth hasn't stopped giving me dirty/pathetic/sad eye's since. And Every time I come near her she try's to cover/hide the rest of the pups with her head.

I gave Beth the can of milk replacer and got her to drink by holding the water dish right under her nose. Rest of the pups are looking good.

Im so sorry Twist, you did all you could do Gma needed some company, she always owned dogs her whole life.
